Jose Mourinho has said Tottenham Hotspur 's goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos was "naive" after he was sent off for protesting a controversial penalty decision in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.
Spurs dominated the game and were leading 1-0 going into stoppage time when a penalty was awarded after a VAR check for a potential handball by Eric Dier.An Andy Carroll header hit Dier on the arm and, under the new handball rules, a spot kick was awarded to the Magpies after referee Peter Bankes took a look at the incident on the pitchside monitor.Callum Wilson duly converted the penalty to rescue a point for Newcastle in the 94th minute and Spurs were livid.Santos was one of a number of players and staff to protest the decision to the officials.
