Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Jordan Jones feels he's left the "biggest club in Scotland" after completing a move to Wigan. The Northern Ireland international moved to Ibrox from Kilmarnock in the summer of 2019 but struggled to convince Steven Gerrard of his qualities.

Jones infuriated his manager by getting himself sent off and injured with a wild tackle on Moritz Bauer in a defeat to Celtic.He briefly returned to the picture last season, scoring against Motherwell, but after breaching Covid rules he was shipped out to Sunderland on loan.And on Wednesday his exit was made permanent as the winger joined Wigan.

After joining the Latics Jones said: "My time up at Kilmarnock was fantastic and I couldn’t have gotten much more out of it really.
