Darren Fletcher's role as technical director at Manchester United has been tweaked following managerial and staff changes. Fletcher officially rejoined United as a coaching staff member on January 4 and watched matches from the press box with the analysts, but then became the club's inaugural technical director on March 10.
The former United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Fletcher could speak to prospective targets and help 'sell' the club to them.
Club sources confirmed Fletcher would attend recruitment meetings and provide expertise on the direction of the squad, monitoring the development of academy graduates on the fringes of the first-team.
