JOHN Barrowman has sparked a furious backlash on social media after he appeared to DEFEND his lewd "party tricks" on set. The ex-Doctor Who star, who was born in Glasgow but now lives in America, denied allegations of sexual harassment after claims were made last year.

The entertainer was accused of flashing at the cast on Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood. While a 2015 video resurfaced showing Noel Clarke claim Barrowman would expose himself “every five seconds” and it was also said that he exposed himself in 2008 during a Radio 1 interview discussing his lewd pranks.

Barrowman appeared on GMB this morning and was asked by host Richard Madley about the accusations. And the star hit out at so-called "cancel culture" as he admitted that he would not perform some of the "silliness" he used to.

The actor said that "times are different" now as he was interviewed about his upcoming tour. Barrowman said: "I think the public understand that it was tomfoolery, a joke and silliness and wasn't sexual harassment. "You say that it was my party trick but everyone who was there, on set and part of the fun and enjoyed and laughed at the silliness that went on, we had a great time." @font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:400;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff').
