Jim Goodwin insists it's time for St Mirren to stop letting gems go for 'pennies'

Jim Goodwin insists the club won’t be selling any of their prized assets on the cheap after they rejected paltry bids for star Irish duo Jamie McGrath and Conor McCarthy.

Goodwin brought the pair over to Scotland from the League of Ireland’s Dundalk and Cork City respectively back in January last year.

And after impressive Premiership seasons which saw McGrath earn a full international debut and McCarthy called up to Ireland’s under-21’s, the talents are now attracting serious interest from clubs down south.

The Buddies rejected an opening offer of £300,000 from Wigan for McGrath earlier this week, while also knocking back a meagre £100,000 bid from Rotherham to sign McCarthy.
