A new animated Batman series are coming to HBO Max and Cartoon Network! Variety reports that the new show, Batman: Caped Crusader, will be produced by Batman: The Animated Series co-creator Bruce Timm alongside The Batman director Matt Reeves and J.J.

Abrams. Bruce Timm‘s Batman: The Animated Series ran from 1992-1995 for a total of 85 episodes and was one of the most critically lauded entries in the DC onscreen canon, garnering praise for its dark storytelling.

In a joint statement, the trio said, “The series will be thrilling, cinematic and evocative of Batman’s noir roots, while diving deeper into the psychology of these iconic characters.
