International travel could be allowed again from May with 'traffic light' ratings for all countries

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said the move will allow the UK to 'reopen travel safely and sustainably' Countries will be classified as 'green', 'amber' or 'red', with various levels of restrictions based on the risks posed.

Travellers returning from green countries will need to take a pre-departure test as well as further tests on or before the second day of their return to the UK.
