A stunning new temple with architectural features crafted in India is now standing proud in Tameside. The new BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir on Lees Road, Ashton-under-Lyne, is a real departure from the local Hindu community's tired old temple on Russell Street.

It is the result of almost seven years' hard work from hundreds of tireless volunteers, who wanted a new temple to be proud of, with plenty of space for community activities and events.
