A BOASTFUL jeweller on BBC’s Inside Dubai revealed how he sold a gold scarf for a six-figure sum - but insisted it’s “not much”.

During Monday night’s instalment of the eye-opening show, the United Arab Emirates’ gold industry was placed under the microscope - and it made for shocking viewing.

Soon into the episode, shopkeeper Abu explained that he has half a tonne of gold available for purchase in his store, with his most expensive item a gold scarf. “It’s not much, but it’s something different in gold,” he told the camera, revealing its eye-watering price tag of £100,000.

The documentary maker then showed a shot of the accessory, which was wrapped around a mannequin’s face and featured a pair of gold sunglasses.
