Inside Amanda Holden’s inseparable friendship with global popstar Kylie Minogue

Amanda Holden has revealed that, even now, iconic pop star Kylie Minogue remains one of her best friends.The Britain’s Got Talent judge and Heart FM radio presenter spoke about how close their friendship is, calling Kylie her “best friend.”When Amanda starred in Neighbours earlier on this year, she revealed her best friend Kylie called her to check she was okay and offer support.

Amanda said: “Kylie rang me while I was on set to say ‘hi, what’s it like! How is it going?” she told The Mirror.She said: “We call each other BFF’s.”Amanda, 51, who originates from Portsmouth, has been on television since 1991, and is well known for her appearance on safari drama Wild at Heart.

She shares lots of similarities with singer Kylie, 53, as both women launched their career participating in soaps.Kylie, from Melbourne, Australia, was first recognised for her portrayal of Charlene Robinson in Australian soap Neighbours before launching her musical empire and becoming a global superstar in the late 80s.She hit dizzying heights when she released songs I Should Be So Lucky and The Loco-Motion, dominating the charts.The two women were originally introduced by celeb makeup artist to the stars Christian Vermaak and hit it off straight away.As Kylie is so well versed with the Neighbours soap, she made sure to support her bestie with her appearance on the popular show.

She played the aunt of Jason Donovan’s daughter, Jemma.Amanda said: “Amanda said at the time of her casting: “Like most people in the UK who were around in the late 80s, early 90s, I grew up watching Neighbours every single day of the week.“I was glued to our TV for the wedding of Kylie & Jason (Scott & Charlene) while cursing Mrs Mangle and praying that Mike and Jane would.
