Inquest opens into death of ‘beautiful and brilliant’ teen who died in university halls

An inquest has opened into the death of a 19-year-old student who was found dead at his university halls. The body of Finn Kitson was discovered by security staff as the University of Manchester's Fallowfield campus on October 8.

Zak Golombeck, area coroner for the Manchester city, confirmed in a statement that Mr Kitson was “found by security at his student accommodation”.

Police say they do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances into his death. Mr Kitson was the son of leading Cambridge academic Michael Kitson.

Paying tribute to his son Mr Kitson posted on social media: “"We love and miss him so much." He added: "Our beautiful brilliant son and brother, Finn, has passed away.
