ok.co.ukJoel Souza has recalled the moment Alec Baldwin accidentally shot a prop gun while on the set of Rust, injuring both him and director of photography Halyna Hutchins, who was later pronounced dead.
The devastating ordeal took place last Thursday (21 October) on the film’s set in New Mexico, leaving Joel with injuries to the shoulder, while Halyna was shot in the stomach.
Joel survived the ordeal, but Halyna tragically died. Joel has now recalled the harrowing moment he and his colleague were shot in a statement to the police.
According to the 48 year old’s written statement, Joel heard what “sounded like a whip and then a loud pop”. He then turned to see Halyna, 42, stumble backwards and clutch her stomach.
