Semen also contains endorphins, estrone, prolactin, a thyrotropin-releasing hormone and serotonin. One study published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour in 2002 even found that women who were more regularly exposed to semen were less likely to be depressed, but of course there could be a myriad of other reasons for this correlation.

Semen is rich in melatonin, a hormone that regulates your sleep cycle and can help you relax when it is ingested. A study published by the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2003 showed that women who regularly swallowed their partner’s semen had a reduced risk of high blood pressure and were less likely to suffer from preeclampsia, a complication during pregnancy caused by high blood pressure.
