Incredible 'tornado' stuns onlookers as it's spotted forming off Welsh coast

A funnel cloud which looked just like a tornado stunned onlookers as it moved through the skies off the coast of Wales. The phenomena was spotted by several people as it made its way through Anglesey, with a massive vortex forming amid "really dark clouds" in Anglesey.

The Met Office, however, didn't classify the event as a tornado as the vortex didn't touch the ground. People in several parts of the island were nonetheless shocked to see the peculiar event, which happened at around 11am on Saturday and lasted about 15 minutes.

Steve Naylor from Stoke-on-Trent, who was staying at his caravan in Benllech over the weekend, described how it was "really sunny" when some black clouds "appeared in the distance".
