Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Incredible story of inspirational Rochdale youngster who received golden buzzer on Britain's Got Talent

Brave youngster Ella Chadwick received the coveted golden buzzer on Britain's Got Talent from David Walliams after performing with the signing choir Sign Along With Us - and she and show boss Simon Cowell go way back.

The inspirational 12-year-old was honoured by Simon at the Pride Of Britain Awards in 2018. Ella, from Rochdale, received the Child Of Courage prize by the reality show judge at the star-studded ceremony after raising £3,000 for the hospital where she has been treated for nephrotic syndrome, a kidney disorder which led to her undergoing 40 operations including a life-saving kidney transplant operation at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in 2014 thanks to a donation from her grandma Christina Chadwick.
