Long-distance running icon Sir Mo Farah showed off his champion spirit when he chased down potential thieves in his exclusive gated community.The retired Olympic distance runner flexed his athletic skills last week while out for a jog with his wife, Tania.

After leaving his phone on the side of a private road to pick up later, a large white van with two men inside pulled up. One man grabbed the phone and they sped off.

But they didn't go unnoticed by Sir Mo who, according to an eyewitness, took off at 'Olympic speed' and went 'full throttle' after the vehicle.

When the culprits realised who was hot on their heels, they quickly returned the phone before zooming away. However, the 41 year old is said to be fuming about the incident, especially as it happened on a luxurious 964-acre gated community where he lives with his wife and children and which benefits from an extensive security on site.
