A care worker who stole thousands from a vulnerable woman and blew it on holiday was caught when her husband heard her talking in her sleep.
Ruth Fort, 47, stole £7,200 from the wheelchair-bound woman while she was meant to be looking after her at a care home. Now her husband Antony has told how he reported his wife to the police after her sleepy mumblings revealed her crime.
He had become suspicious after she splurged thousands during a family holiday to Mexico - but she dismissed his fears. Just four weeks later, he was awoken by his wife mumbling ‘about money’ in her sleep, before finding the care home’s resident debit card in her purse.
He reported her to the police and Ruth appeared before Liverpool Crown Court last week, according to Mirror Online. Father of three Antony, 61, says: “I had my suspicions when Ruth began over-spending.
