It's understood that the rally was held in protest against current Covid-19 restrictions. Pictures and videos from the protest show hundreds of people carrying walking through the Arndale carrying anti-lockdown banners earlier today.
Few appear to be wearing masks. The protest was held two days ahead of the next national easing of lockdown restrictions. The demonstrators continued their protest through the city centre, marching through Chapel Street in Salford before ending up in Media City.
