drive to work through an industrial estate six miles away from the coast, leading to him thinking he had slept through a tsunami. While it isn't out of the ordinary for fly-tippers to dump fridges, sofas and bags of rubbish, the finding of a 35ft vessel has shocked commuter Phillip Tye, who happened to come upon the boat.

The boat was found sitting on an industrial estate in Middlesbrough, which left both Tye and Redcar and Cleveland Council "bemused".Tye had hilariously suggested to employees at the time of the discovery that they may have "slept through a tsunami".Tye, an operations director at ERW Joinery Ltd, said: "When pulling up to open the factory this morning, I came across this mad item of fly-tipping.

Unfortunately, the estate is a regular fly-tipping spot for builders' waste, black bags, and general rubbish."My mind was blown seeing a 35ft boat sitting on the estate this morning, all of our employees think it's amazing a boat can be tipped, and yet no one has seen it.

I suggested we may have all slept through a tsunami and it was never fly-tipped after all."As it stands the boat is still there, I’m sure a crane will be required to move it.
