Princess Elizabeth was just 21-years-old when she married 26-year-old Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten on November 20, 1947.Philip has been at the Queen’s side throughout the decades during her role as head of state.In a speech marking their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997, the Queen said: “He is someone who doesn't take easily to compliments but he has, quite simply, been my strength and stay all these years, and I, and his whole family, and this and many other countries, owe him a debt greater than he would ever claim, or we shall ever know.”Even though they have been married for more than 73 years, their relationship goes.
