Royal Yacht draws to a close, all eyes within the yachting world are on who will be overseeing its design - and none more so than the interior designer Guy Oliver.
Oliver’s passion for yachts is personal. Having joined the Royal Navy at 17, he was “bitten by the boat bug” and gained first-hand experience of serving on and maintaining a yacht.
He also has fond memories of the Royal Yacht Britannia: “There was a period where one of the ships I was serving on was escorting her, so I was able to go on board,” he recalls. “It was the most extraordinary experience. "Whenever she was overseas people would fight to be invited on board.
