Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper has returned to their London family home after spending a year in hospital battling coronavirus.
And the Good Morning Britain presenter completely renovated the ground floor of their beautiful home to make it wheelchair-friendly for her 53-year-old former lobbyist husband.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain after Derek returned home, Kate revealed that her living room is now Derek's bedroom and it feels like the hospital has come home with her.
In the ITV documentary, Finding Derek, which aired last month, the Smooth Radio host revealed the plans, including a lift to the garden, widening doors and wet room, to make the house suitable for “ground-floor living”.
