An eight-team mini tournament could settle promotion issues in Leagues One and Two under contingency plans being considered as part of a conclusion to this season in light of the coronavirus pandemic, according to reports.
Three blueprints of how the campaign could be decided were presented on Friday in a meeting of the EFL and club captains, should it not be possible for the season to finish in a traditional manner.
One plan would mean the top eight sides in both League One and Two taking each other on to decide promotion. But, according to Sky Sports, none of the plans being discussed and considered at present would see any teams relegated.
