Video game players might be familiar with Colette, a short documentary film that features a 90-year-old former member of the French Resistance and appears inside the virtual reality adventureMedal of Honor: Above and Beyond.
Movie buffs may know the project from its distribution by the U.K.'sThe Guardiannewspaper. Others, meanwhile, have no doubt noticed the film's inclusion amongst the Oscar nominees at the 93rd Academy Awards.
It is the first Oscar nomination for writer and director Anthony Giacchino and producer Alice Doyard, as well as for Electronic Arts' Respawn Entertainment and Facebook's Oculus Studios, the gaming companies that co-produced the film.
