Houston Tumlin has died aged just 28, reportedly by suicide. He was a child actor who previously appeared in the film Talladega Nights in 2006 opposite Will Ferrell.
Shelby County Coroner Lina Evans told TMZ that Tumlin had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Pelham, Alabama on Tuesday at 4.30am.
The publication reports that Tumlin's girlfriend was in the home at the time of his death. Tumlin will be remembered well for his turn as the mouthy 10-year-old Walker Bobby in Talladega Nights who had a penchant for bad language.
The film remains Tumlin's only acting credit, with TMZ noting that he also served in the US Army's 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell.
