Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene following the crash on Spotland Road at around 7.30pm on Monday (April 19).
An Audi A3 and a Ford Mondeo collided with each other, police said. The occupants of both cars were 'seriously injured' in the smash.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. No further details on the occupants of the cars, or the nature of their injuries, have been released yet.
