Horrifying moment teenager attacked by spider monkeys after she repeatedly hit enclosure

A video, which was shared on TikTok by @leslyyyyy.z, showed the girl approaching the monkey enclosure at an unnamed zoo, with her phone in one hand as she was hitting the fence.But she quickly regretted her decision when the animal reached through the fence of the enclosure and pulled the girl towards them as she screamed.READ MORE: Cops hunt rogue monkey after 18 people including baby injured in two-week rampageThe monkey seemed reluctant to let her go as she tried to pull away, forcing people around her to step in and try and separate them.

A boy was seen pulling the girl away from the spider monkey and swinging a t-shirt at the animal in an attempt to get it to let her go, while the person who was recording the video cackled with laughter.Thankfully, she is able to get herself free - only to go back and do the same thing again to get grabbed again and manage to get free for the final time before the footage ended.

The clip, which has since gained more than 700 likes, has prompted zoo visitors to be warned to not touch the bars of animal cages, whether they seem docile or not.While a few users commented saying that they 'feel bad' for the teen, others were livid at the girl's actions and said that she should learn her lesson about antagonising the animals.

One user wrote: "Why did she go back for seconds?"Another added: "Why are you teaching your kids or whatever to mess with wild animals.
