stabbed an Aldi security guard with a needle has been given one last chance to show she can turn her life around.Nicola Henderson appeared before Teesside Crown Court for sentencing after previously admitting to the assault and a separate charge of public indecency and three counts of theft.

The court heard how the 47-year-old had committed offences while she was homeless, but now has a roof over her head thanks to a council scheme.

It was heard that Henderson, along with another woman, had placed a large bottle of whisky into a large handbag at an Aldi store last April.Christopher Bevan, prosecuting, said a security guard witnessed the offence and tried to stop Henderson leaving the store, and as he placed his hand in her bag to try and retrieve the whisky, she stabbed him with a needle.Bevan said: "He felt two sharp scratches, like injuries with a needle.

He was left with two puncture marks. "She said she did not recall stabbing him with the needle, but she did say she had it because she was a drug addict and told officers she had previously had hepatitis C."He added that the victim was left extremely worried and depressed by the incident, giving up his job in retail security and was left with scars from the injury.Henderson also admitted to having sex in a public place in July of last year, with Bevan saying a child had witnessed the act through a window, and believing it to be two people having a fight outside, alerted his grandparents.Bevan said: "The grandmother said it was clear these two people were having sex in a public place.
