Neighbours might be shortly coming to an end but another Australian soap is still just as popular as ever. Home and Away premiered in January of 1988 and it follows the lives of those living in the fictional seaside town Summer Bay, in New South Wales.

He was 15 at the time of his audition but received instant recognition for his part on the drama, later admitting to having found the attention "bizarre".Meanwhile Melissa George arrived on the soap in 1993 as teenage runaway Angel and stayed in the role until 1996.Together the character’s of Angel and Shane were paired together and to this day remain one of the soap’s most loved couples.
However, behind the scenes it was a different story.It’s been widely reported there was animosity between the actors when the cameras were not rolling.In 2012, Dieter spoke to Woman’s Day where he exclaimed: "We may have been love interests on the show but the chemistry was far from real.”In the end, the character of Shane Parrish was killed off in March of 1996, suffering blood poisoning.
