Hollyoaks have confirmed that Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) will die this summer.The fan favourite received a life-changing health diagnosis back in 2019.He was told that the shrinkage at the front of his brain was actually caused by FTD Pick's disease, also known as frontotemporal dementia.Wednesday's first-look episode on E4 ended with an upsetting flash-forward scene.Luke's son Ollie (Gabriel Clark) was seen grieving for him in a glimpse of the future.The young lad began a poignant film project during the latest visit to the village.Ollie hoped that discussions about the past and watching old tapes would help Luke to deal with his dementia.

The teen started to interview Luke outside The Dog, but his father's short attention span made things difficult. As Luke struggled to stay focused for long enough, Ollie resorted to Plan B by interviewing friends and family about his life instead.Later, there was a touching moment at The Dog as Cindy, Luke, Zara, Tony, Diane and Darren all spent time together.Zara made a speech looking to the future, reminding everyone: "On July 7, my big brother gets to marry Cindy."And I want her to know how lucky he is to have her in his life.

And I couldn't ask for a better sister-in-law."Luke and Cindy then publicly declared their love for each other, with Ollie recording their heartfelt words on his video camera.A flashforward scene later showed Ollie dressed for a funeral, watching the footage back in very different circumstances.Fans of the Channel 4 were left heartbroken as they learned Luke's fate.Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "My eyes are so sore from crying over this!
