His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

HOLLY Willoughby was left open-mouthed today as Phillip Schofield revealed his encounter with "shapeshifting fairies" as a child.

The presenters were joined by two women who claim to see the mythical creatures during today's This Morning. They left Phil stunned when they explained that one of his childhood memories was the result of a helping hand from a real-life fairy - and his co-star couldn't believe what she was hearing.

Guests Avi and Terry were speaking about how they sometimes feel a fairy's energy, but only see an animal - speculating that they can take the form of any creature.

Phil then recalled: "I was walking, when I was young, with my folks in Cornwall - they'd all seen rabbits and I hadn't seen one.
