Police Constable Claire Chalmers was called to reports of a violent male at a home in the south of the Isle of Mull.When she arrived, she found a woman covered in blood who said she had been assaulted by a man still hiding in the property.PC Chalmers found him hiding in another room under a duvet.The man then produced two knives and aimed them at her.Using pepper spray, she was able to remove the weapons from the man and led the woman to safety.A helicopter later arrived to arrest the man, who pleaded guilty and received an eight-month jail sentence.
