Hero off-duty cop helps save choking baby

Kamren Khan was driving along Bolton Road in Sudden, Rochdale, when he saw two women struggling with a baby in their arms as he passed by.

The little girl is believed to be around 18 months old. Mr Khan turned his car around and pulled over beside them. He told how he found the toddler's mother and grandmother 'clearly distressed' and holding the baby girl over. "I knew she was choking," said Mr Khan, a police constable serving with Greater Manchester Police. "They were both trying to get the baby's airway open." He offered to help immediately.
