A sick former football coach who fed a young player alcohol before taking him back to his flat and raping him has been jailed.

Michael Coleman inflicted horrifying sexual abuse on his victim throughout the 1970s in Bolton. The boy was just 15-years-old at the time. The abuse began when the now 79-year-old touched his victim inappropriately in the showers. He then took the boy back to his flat on several occasions.

He purchased the youngster alcohol and food before pressuring him to perform sex acts. The teenager believed the assaults were "required” if you wanted to become a professional footballer.
