The long-awaited slasher flick Halloween Kills debuted at the number one spot at the box office this past weekend.According to Variety, the Jamie Lee Curtis-starring horror film netted $50.4 million through moviegoers, and theDavid Gordon Green-directed feature also enjoyed a release on Peacock.The media outlet also reported that the motion picture beat Godzilla Vs.
Kong, which grossed$31.6 million, for the most successful opening weekend for a project released in theaters and on streaming services.
