Jack Ross had made an offer to extend Irvine’s deal but he knocked them back for the Bundesliga 2 outfit. Hibs have identified Hamilton star Odoffin as a possible replacement, though they will have to agree a fee for the Accies player, who has a year left on his contract.
Odoffin moved to Hamilton from Livingston last year and has been a standout in midfield, despite being signed as a right-back.
English side Rotherham are also keen on the 23-year-old, who was previously a target for Motherwell and St Mirren earlier in the window.Ross is looking to get his squad in shape ahead of their Europa Conference League opener later this month.He has already brought in Jake Doyle Hayes from St Mirren to bolster his midfield.
