EXCLUSIVE: GVN Releasing has picked up July 7: Who Killed the President?, a Haitian-set and produced political thriller from filmmaker Robenson Lauvince.

GVN will release the film in U.S. cinemas on May 16, a few days before Haitian Flag Day on May 18. Inspired by true events, the film interrogates the assassination of former Haitian president Jovenel Moïse.

The narrative follows Shedeline, a curious college student, who travels to Haiti to unravel the life of the president for a memoir.

Her investigation plunges her into the heart of a life-changing event, providing her with a front-row seat to the chaos and intrigue of a bloody political firestorm.
