Gridlock on Scots hill as dozens of motorists flock to snow covered beauty spots despite lockdown restrictions

gridlocked traffic halfway up a hill after visitors flocked to a snow covered beauty spot in Scotland. A picture taken on the East Lomond, near Falkland, Fife, on Sunday, January 24, showed vehicles queuing along the narrow country road which was covered in patches of perilous ice.

Lay-bys remained covered in snow following recent snowy weather forcing motorists to attempt to drive up steep embankments to make way for traffic heading up the peak.

Social media users branded the drivers “selfish” and called for them to be fined by police for breaking lockdown travel rules.One wrote: “Restrictions are clearly working well.
