Gregg Wallace has surprised fans with an unexpectedly upbeat video on social media, posted just minutes after news of his MasterChef exit broke.

MasterChef's production company announced this morning that Gregg would be taking a break from his presenting role as an external review into allegations of misconduct against the presenter was conducted.

In a statement, Banijay UK said that while complaints were made to the BBC rather than the production company, an external review will be undertaken while Gregg steps away from the show. "This week the BBC received complaints from individuals in relation to historical allegations of misconduct while working with presenter Gregg Wallace on one of our shows.

Whilst these complainants have not raised the allegations directly with our show producers or parent company Banijay UK, we feel that it is appropriate to conduct an immediate, external review to fully and impartially investigate. "While this review is underway, Gregg Wallace will be stepping away from his role on MasterChef and is committed to fully cooperating throughout the process." However, just minutes before the news broke of Gregg's exit, the TV host took to his Instagram story to share a video of himself singing whilst making tacos. "Pineapple!" he sang, whilst holding up a bowl to the camera. "Do you want to phone for a takeaway or do you want to make your own tacos?" In the clip, he walks his followers through his taco recipe whilst singing along to The Champs' hit Tequila.
