Gregg Wallace has come forward to address his controversial remarks about 'middle-aged women' and has extended an apology. In a fresh Instagram video posted on Monday, the MasterChef presenter expressed his regret: "I want to apologise for any offence that I caused with my post yesterday and any upset I may have caused to a lot of people."He admitted to not being in the right frame of mind when he made the post, citing immense stress and emotional turmoil: "I wasn't in a good headspace when I posted it, I've been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion, I felt very alone, under siege yesterday when I posted it."Wallace acknowledged the need for a break, especially during the ongoing investigation: "It's obvious to me I need to take some time out, now, while this investigation is under way I hope you understand and I do hope you will accept this apology."The 60 year old TV personality has been caught up in controversy recently after several individuals alleged he had used sexually inappropriate language on the set of his BBC programme.
Further claims have surfaced accusing him of groping women and using racist language – accusations he has vehemently denied.
In an attempt to tackle these allegations head-on, Gregg released a series of videos on Instagram Stories on Sunday, where he claimed those making the allegations were "a handful of middle class women of a certain age", reports the Mirror.
