Sign up to FREE email alerts from the Northern Agenda Ministers still haven’t signed off the military support they promised a fortnight ago to help with Greater Manchester’s rocketing Covid cases, the region’s health chief has said.
Sir Richard Leese also said that the supply of vaccines for the under-40s, which local authorities here have been pushing ministers to bring forward for some time, is still not coming through ‘at the speed we need it’.
The news comes as Manchester, Salford and Bury occupy the second, third and fourth highest spots for infection rates in the country respectively, with numbers continuing to rise - although Sir Richard said the rate of increase was now slowing. READ MORE: Andy Burnham 'considers legal action'
