Great Britain triathlete Rebecca Comins who died after a crash with a van while she was out cycling. Mrs Comins, 52, passed away following a collision with a Vauxhall Movano on the A40 near Raglan, Monmouthshire, last Thursday (2 June).
The crash happened at around 7.20pm, and Mrs Comins was pronounced dead at the scene.A much-loved triathlete, the mum-of-two had represented Great Britain at both European and world championship events in the last few years.
She finished ninth in the 2018 Tartu ETU Triathlon European Championships and 30th in the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Lausanne.Mrs Comins was the current vintage veteran champion of the Welsh Triathlon Series.
She had been due to take part in the British championships this weekend with her son George, in Leeds. Her family paid a touching tribute to her today. "Our beautiful Rebecca was taken from us on Thursday, June 2 doing something she loved," they said."She was a caring and loving wife to Stephen and an amazing mum to both George and Millie.
