By one estimate, as many as 4 billion people could be watching as the funeral of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II takes place on Monday, September 19 beginning at 11 a.m. BST (3 a.m. PT). As many as 750,000 people are predicted to travel to London for the state funeral and pay their respects as the queen lies in state, per the UK’s Guardian. Among those waiting in line 12-plus hours to pay their respects was David Beckham. The service at Westminster Abbey is likely to be among the biggest single ceremonial events staged in the U.K. since World War II.

Earlier this week King Charles III visited Northern Ireland where an incident with a leaky pen caught the attention of royal fans.The King, 73, was at the royal residence of Hillsborough Castle in Co Down in Northern Ireland, where he sat down to sign a visitor’s book when the incident occurred. His Majesty was heard telling royal aides "I can't bear this bloody thing" after a pen he was using inconveniently left ink all over his hands.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been "uninvited" to a state reception hosted by King Charles III – Harry's father and the new reigning Monarch. It's understood that the couple initially received an invite to a state reception for world leaders and foreign royals tomorrow evening, however, it's reportedly now been revoked.The reason being is said to be due to the fact that Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, are no longer officially working members of the royal family, after they stepped down in 2020.

The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama continued into the weekend as it wasn’t clear if the Sussexes would be attending a pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who settled in California after stepping down as senior royals in 2020 – reportedly initially received an invitation to the Sunday evening reception, but conflicting reports said they were and weren’t expected to attend.  According to the Telegraph, they have now been uninvited because palace officials insisted that the reception hosted by King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, is only for working royals, which Harry and Meghan are not. King Charles III burst out laughing when a kind woman in the crowd handed him a pen "just in case" following his recent frustrations with stationery.The 73-year-old monarch was greeting members of the public in Cardiff on Friday, September 17, when a woman made the light-hearted gesture of handing him a pen.His Majesty seemed slightly confused by the gift at first but realised why and burst out laughing when she said: "Just in case."READ MORE: King Charles' outburst caught on camera - 'I can't bear this bloody thing!'The King was later seen bringing his own pen to a Welsh cathedral after being frustrated by previous mishaps that left his hand covered in ink.Although, it did not appear to be the pen handed to him by the woman outside.The monarch and Queen Consort Camilla were visiting Cardiff and attended a service of prayers and reflection for the late Queen at Llandaff Cathedral.At the end of the service, they were invited to sign a guest book to mark their first visit as King and Queen Consort.Charles took out a fountain pen from his suit jacket and calmly signed on the book "Charles R", which "R" stands for Rex, meaning King in Latin.He passed the book and the pen to Camilla, who signed "Camilla R" right under his signature.The King then popped his pen back into his pocket before walking down the aisle and exiting the cathedral where the crowd welcomed him with cheers.Sky correspondent Laura Bundock said: "Interestingly one thing I noticed at the very end when the King and Queen Consort were signing the visitor's book in the cathedral, he had brought his own pen following the previous pen problems we had seen."He had one and gave it to the Queen Consort before he signed the book as well.

The last few weeks have been monumental for the UK and have seen communities across the the country - and beyond - band together to remember the life of the longest-reigning British monarch. Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday September 8 age 96 at her Balmoral residence.

As the nation continues to mourn for The Queen following her death last week, many of us will now be turning out attention towards the funeral, which will be incomparable in scale and grandeur to any funeral we have seen before. While many of us will have seen state funerals in the past, such as after the death of the Queen Mother in 2002 and Princess Diana in 1997, far fewer people will recall the death of the previous Sovereign, King George VI’s funeral which was held in 1952.

TalkTV presenter Piers Morgan slammed those heckling King Charles III yesterday over taxpayers’ money.The journalist suggested that comments were insensitive given the recent death of the monarch’s late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.Piers, 57, took to Twitter yesterday to address the public’s reaction to the new King in view of his 7.9 million followers.He shared a video from Sky News, which showed a man heckling the King as he stopped to greet the crowds gathered in Wales.The clip was captioned: “During his visit to Cardiff today, King Charles was heckled over taxpayers' money.”The man in the video could be heard shouting: “While we struggle to heat our homes, we have to pay for your parade.“The taxpayer pays £100 million for you, and what for?”Above the video, Piers added: “Imagine doing this to a man whose mother died a few days ago?
