GRAND Designs revisited the infamous lighthouse renovations on tonight’s episode – with fans all saying the same thing as Kevin McCloud caught up with Edward and Hazel.
Over the course of more than a decade, millions were pumped into turning Chessil Cliff House into Edward’s dream home. But the Croyde, Devon property came at an even bigger cost – Edward and Hazel’s marriage.
The hope to spend £2.5million came and went within years, with the couple plunging themselves into financial ruin to make the transformation come to life.
The eventual price came to more than £5million. On top of that, they even knocked their own house down in order to invest more money into the fantasy.
