Beyonce is the most-nominated performer at the 2021 Grammy Awards, but she has opted not to perform at the event.
This marks that third time in recent years that the most-nominated performer of the year decided not to perform, following Jay-Z in 2018 and Kendrick Lamar in 2019.
The Recording Academy’s interim CEO Harvey Mason Jr. told the Los Angeles Times, “It’s unfortunate, because she’s such a big part of the Recording Academy.
We absolutely wish we had her onstage.” He also insisted that a surprise Beyonce performance is not being planned, nor is one from Adele despite a rumored comeback appearance.
