Government adviser says huge covid-breaching house parties are "mythical"

Stephen Reicher, professor of social psychology at the University of St Andrews, claimed that “less than two per cent” of lockdown breaches investigated by police in Scotland involved 15 people or more.Reicher, a member of the Government's covid advisory group, told MPs his figures came from conversations with police officers about lockdown rules which now ban people gathering in other households.He said: “They investigated 430 house gatherings of which thirteen, less than two per cent, had more than 15 people.
