BBC has also landed a deal to bring every episode of the series featuring Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester as Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf to BBC iPlayer.Gossip Girl fans will be able to watch both the new show and the old series in 2021.Kristen Bell will also be returning to the new series as the voice of the iconic anonymous source into the "scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite", so fans will certainly get a sense of nostalgia.Showrunner Joshua Safran, writer and executive producer on the original series will also be developing the new show which will see an Instagram account act as Gossip Girl - instead of the previous website.It will take place nine years after Gossip Girl ended on December 17, 2012, after five years.
