Gordon Brown has lashed out at Boris Johnson for allegedly hiding from the public over coronavirus - as he told the Prime Minister to "get a grip!".
The ex-PM, who led the UK in the global economic crash a decade ago, demanded Mr Johnson come to Parliament tomorrow to explain his strategy for rescuing care homes and stricken firms.
Mr Brown said he would “take into account” the fact the Prime Minister had himself been ill with coronavirus, including three nights in intensive care.
But he said the nation has "lost 12,000, maybe 20,000 lives in old people’s homes" and known about the crisis in care homes "for two months".
