Golf fans have lambasted the LIV golf series and compared the new leaderboard to that of F1. The first of eight tournaments under the controversial circuit got underway on Thursday at London's Centurion Club.The breakaway circuit has been shrouded in controversy since it became public knowledge and threatens to tear the sport apart.
But curious spectators tuned in to witness the events of the inaugural league unfold and were not impressed with the presentation of the leaderboard.
Twitter user @ReallyDanWeiner wrote: “That leaderboard looks terrible,” while @iAmSteven7 added: “Leaderboard looks like F1.
Have no idea what’s going on.” @EJ1una saw the funny side and joked: “Can’t wait for Sergio Garcia to activate his DRS system to overtake Graeme McDowell.”@RichArrowsmith then chimed in: “Thought I'd flick on that new golf thing to see who's actually in it and what it looks like, but immediately had to close after seeing the worst leaderboard in the world.” The leaderboard will be updated throughout the day and currently 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel the lead, shooting five under.
