Richard Madeley told his fellow Good Morning Britain co-star that they “didn’t need her anymore” live on air.During Wednesday’s instalment of the popular ITV morning show, the 66-year-old and his co-host Susanna Reid welcomed meteorologist Laura Tobin back on the show to get the latest weather report. But it’s fair to say the brunette beauty, 40, was left gobsmacked after Richard’s brazen comment after he showed off his skills as a weatherman before he swiftly moved on with the breakfast show.Once the mum-of-one informed viewers of the upcoming weather plans ahead of the weekend, the TV presenter shared his thoughts after spotting a stunning sunrise on his way into work. The dad-of-two asked: “I have to say there was an amazing sunrise driving in this morning, it was a really, really bright, bright, bright red.“Is that old saying sunrise in morning, shepherd’s warning true?” he asked.Laura explained: “Red skin in the morning, shepherd’s warning – it's actually true because the sun is rising in the south east and it basically is reflecting off the clouds that are coming in.

So if clouds are coming in, it would rain later.”It was at this point that, Richard quipped: “Oh great, so we don’t need you” before he moved on with the show.Laura turned to the broadcaster utterly shocked by his comment, before jokingly walking off set, saying: “Ok then see you later.”Luckily the brunette beauty took the cheeky quip as a joke as the trio laughed while Richard noted they “just needed to say the rhyme” rather than get her detailed weather reports each morning. It comes after Laura revealed she had always wanted to be a meteorologist in her new book Every Day Ways To Save The Planet. From the age of 14, the starlet knew what line of work.
